About Darren Gordon About Darren Gordon

Darren is a senior at Jacksonville State University, majoring in Communication with a concentration in Broadcasting and a minor in Sport Management. He chose this major because of his strong passion for sports and his enjoyment of discussing them. Darren played football from middle school through high school, which further fueled his interest in pursuing a career in the sports industry.

He hosts his own radio show called "Tackle Talk," which he has been running for three years. Initially, it started as a 15-minute segment called "Cock Talk," where he discussed events happening on campus. In his second year, he expanded the show to a one-hour format, focusing on various sports, particularly football and basketball. He provides game highlights, discusses upcoming matchups, and covers other sports news, including trades and injuries that occur throughout the season.

Darren is proficient in editing and using various types of media equipment. He has taken courses in TV production, video production, and audio production. In his TV production class, he learned how to operate a camera, control the TV broadcast system, and manage the audio board. Through his audio production course, he enhanced his skills with sound equipment and learned how to edit audio by adjusting levels, removing unwanted sounds, and adding fades for smooth transitions. In his video production class, Darren developed his ability to effectively edit videos and select the right content to include in each project.
